Ashi barai - leg sweep

Bunkai - the application of techniques

Chudan - middle body area

Chudan geri - kick to middle body

chudan tsuki - punch to middle body

Choku zuki - straight punch

Chudan uchi uke - forearm inside block

Chudan soto uke - forearm outside block

Dachi - stance

Dan - senior grade

Dojo - place where art is practiced

Empi uchi - elbow strike

Empi waza - elbow techniques

Fumikomi - stamping

Furi zuki - uppercut punch

Gedan - lower body area

Gedan barai - downward sweeping block

Gedan shuto uke - Knife hand downward block

Geri - kick

Gi - karate outfit

Gyaku - reverse position

Gyaku tsuki - reverse punch

Haito uke - ridge hand block

Hiza geri -Knee kick
